Anyone Have Trouble With Helm Control Ballast Valves?
They should make sure and check for a smooth operation before the install. I had to deburr, sand and lube my valves before I could get the same kind of resistance that the red OEM valves had. But since then, they have been flawless, and work as they should.
Jeff,
I was wondering if you could supply me with the Asco Red Hat valve part number. Im looking to purchase the explosion proof ones. Also any other parts im going to have to purchase to make this work.
8210G95 is the part number on the valves that I used. They have worked extremely well so far. No problems at all!

I would like to use the Asco valves on my 02 SAN. What switches would you recommend, since I only have 1 fill/empy and I would like to seperate them so I can individually empt and fill each for surfing.
Looking at the specs of those valves they are 120 V AC switches. Are you putting an converter onboard to get the 120 volts?
Chris
Nope. They work just fine as is.

Jeff in the blast from the past. I thought you may be able to help me. My 07 236 leaks with the thru hull open. I have asked my dealer two years in a row if I need different impellers for the ballast puppies and they say the company won't warranty a change for that. Is this true? If I have to buy new impellers which color works without allowing water by without reaching under the floor?
The original ones were black, those were replaced with yellow ones, and now, for some reason, they have green ones. Call Jabsco and see if there is a difference in stiffness. I never have issues with this, but my intakes are out the transom under the deck. Do you guys with scoops usually have to close the ball valve or no?
