Anyone Have Trouble With Helm Control Ballast Valves?
I thought those were warranty items. I am pretty sure dealers were replacing them under warranty in the past.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

The original ones were black, those were replaced with yellow ones, and now, for some reason, they have green ones. Call Jabsco and see if there is a difference in stiffness. I never have issues with this, but my intakes are out the transom under the deck. Do you guys with scoops usually have to close the ball valve or no?
I am not sure what color mine are I just know mine don't work right so i was gonna try to get the new ones. My boat was made early 07 so not sure if that helps.
You should look at them, just for curiosity sake. I would guess they are black. I don't think that should matter, but maybe. It is three screws to pop the cover off. It is obvious then.

Mine came with yellows. Had 3 full seasons on them. I have spares just in case, but have not had to use them.
I believe the original problem with the black impellers was the hub spins out of them.

I have had the yellow and green impellers on my pumps. The yellow pass quite a bit of water, the green is better but still leaks a bit. I may switch back to black. They also sell those blue globe impellers for these pumps.
Pick your color Yellow, Green, Blue, Black...
Yellow = easy reversing but lets water pass
Green = slightly more difficult reversing but less water passing
Blue = not sure if it's better or worse than yellow or green for reversing or water passage but it shouldn't burn up as easy as the others
Black = hard to reverse, doesn't pass water when new, burns up quickly when dry
My problem has always been the water siphoning out of the tank once full. Is that impellar related. My tanks do not fill when underway. Any Ideas here?
My two rear tanks with scoops will take on water while I am slalom skiing. They did not start taking on water until the end of the second season with the pumps. I know that I just need to replace the impellers with new black ones, reversing is not an issue in my case since the impeller pumps in my system are only used to fill the tanks.
I have a 4th Ballast Puppy that I use for my fatsacks, it gets reversed, and it leaks so I put a cap on the end of that hose when it is not being used.
Sorry to bug you again. I read all 23 pages! From what I could tell, the same part number goes to a number of differen voltages, sizes, and flow rates. I found this one, below, and was curious if this is the one you used, and how much you had to pay: http://www.pexsupply.com/Asco-RedHat...e-6-5-CV-12VDC
Please let me know. I would rather just go with the red hat valves than to have the dealer get me the TH valves (I am the second owner).
Can you tell me how you wired them? Did you splice into the positive and negative side of each pump, or did you run separate ground wires for the solenoids?
i bought my 05 in 2008. had the dealer replace the valves, for free, and i never have an issue. i think they'll even still pay for them to be replaced if you have the original defective ones.
