Last year on my 01 210 I had some intermittent issues with my keyless ignition keypad. I was going to try and bypass the keypad with a keyed ignition hidden under the dash so when my keypad stopped working I had a backup.
Never got around to doing it but yesterday I had an issue with the keypad again. My code includes the number 2 and guess what that button will not work. My dealer tells me he has a tool that can change the code by plugging it in and changing it. He's going to do it next week.
However I thought I best sort my backup plan out.
I have made a small metal bracket with a toggle switch and a push button mounted to it.
The idea is to flick the toggle switch to put the ignition on and then the push button to start the engine.

I am going to connect 12v from the battery to the toggle switch.
The other side of the switch to the push button and also to the purple/white wire in the loom which I believe is ignition 12v.
And finally the other side of the push button to the yellow/red wire for the starter motor.
I will get it wired in over the weekend hidden under the dash and let you know how I get on.
Hopefully it will help anyone else having keypad issues.
