    custom exhaust

almost finished my custom exhaust for surfing fumes reduction

made first in PVC pipe, then made in stainless,

will be welded in next few days i hope, tomorrow making nice bracket to hold it to the transom.

will add finished photos when done.

Who can give me an answer, should i make an internal flapper valve or not worry. seems to be that these are not needed from what i have read

Very nice. Wish I was that talented. I was very close to buying one from fresh air exhaust and I would skip the flapper.

I have the flapper on mine but would not do it again. IMO it just adds to the back pressure and with all those curves I think there is little risk of getting water in the engine.
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

Nice job!! FAE is next on the to do list. Not sure if I was getting into some older fuel or what but our boat sure did stink today.

Almost finished, just the scary bit of drilling for two bolts to go through the hull

Also got nice black plastic end caps to go over the ends of the ugly square tube to finish it off

          Test run this weekend maybe

That looks nice. Too bad we can't hydra-form one.

Great work man! Have you noticed any differences in motor performance, either better or worse?

Hi, As i only used the boat a few times before i fitted i couldn't comment on differences in motor performance, however from all research i did into it myself, there is no evidence of loss of power. cheers
