I'm sure I am forgetting something, so ask away. This project will now consume me for the entire winter.
This is the ticket brother! I'm going to use your advice for a mock up / test setup! My plan after I can test is to laser cut 1/4" thk 316 ss for the plates. I just didn't want to drill holes in the transom until I was sure it worked. This will consume my winter now. What is the model number on the actuator that you are using? Thanks for posting your progress! I hate having to list the boat to surf. Mine drives like sh** when surfing on the starboard side. I typically run the same amount of weight when I wakeboard as I do when we surf, just move it around in the boat, about 3500 lbs total. Not having to move the sacs around would be AWESOME!!!!!2018 SANTE 230 - H5

mbaumet, please keep us posted of your progress as I know myself and many other legacy 210 owners will be interested in this same thing.Shawn

I will have to make a bunch of test pieces I think to see what setup has to most effect. The boat shows are right around the corner! I'll be the guy with a tape measure checking out the NSS , the surf gate and the swell. Haha.2018 SANTE 230 - H5

As far as the taper, the SV hull tapers too, and it still has a good effect. I'm just not sure how you would adjust the steepness of the wave as much with NSS. I think on the G, they use the NCRS to do that, which is just a big middle trim-tab and all I have is hydro-gate which doesn't give you as much effect.

As far as the actuators, I was planning to use the Lenco 101 XDS "Short" so they fit under the swim deck. That is what defines the 2.25 extension that I can get.

After stopping at my local dealer and really looking at the NSS on the G's I've begun progress on an NSS for my 06 210. I had planned on 1/4 for the baseplate and 1/8 for everything else. I have my actuators ordered. Materials are almost ready to go to the laser cutter. Couple more final measurements of the transom need to be taken. Just need to make one more 45 minute trip to the storage unit at the lake where the boat is.2018 SANTE 230 - H5

When you get a chance can you take pictures of the template or shape of what you plan to do on the transom? I'm just looking at the transom of my 05 SAN and it looks like there is minimal surface area to work with as far as installing plates. I am strongly considering this on my boat but I am having a hard time visualizing it.

DIY NSS on 05 SV-211
I just completed testing on my DIY NSS. Thanks to dfoster for the inspiration and source for materials. Unfortunately my local Walmart's HDPE cutting boards must be weaker than yours. My board broke away after about 30 min. The wake was awesome while it lasted. Here is my setup. 05 SV-211. 400 lbs in port locker. 400 lbs in starboard locker. 350 lbs in center locker. 800 lbs across back seat. NSS deployed on starboard side 2".

I have my Lenco actuators in, and have built a controller with an Arduino board that will turn them on/off and allow me to adjust the distance they extend. I'm now trying to find the time to actually draw things up to get plates cut. Have you done that yet? Want to share drawings and I can help with the controller? I'm better at the electronics than the drawing. Honestly, I'm a hack... but hey, it gets built.
Let me know if you want to work together on the drawings and getting plates cut. If we can get one set up for an SV, we can share that with the group... or if there is someone else with an SV that is good at CAD, drop me a message and we can work things out.

Doug, made a design similar to yours and hope I can get pics to post here. Wave shaping has been awesome. Made my base plates out of 1/2" HDPE and the slide plate of 3/8". Made templates, prototypes ect,,, and final models after some trial and error but we have been super stoked by the results. Can adjust the length of the wave, shape ect,,,just by moving plate out 1-1/2" for skim boards or full 3-3 1/2" out for surf style boards. Every single rider this year has said our wave has more push and is longer or better shape in general for riding. We deal w a lot of current in the river we ride in so have to play w speed some but so far very happy w results.

More pics and surf wave. Wife on the Goofy side, friends wife on regular side. Sorry for pic quality. We will play w speed and ballast rear ratio, but right now, about 70/30, 65/35 rear ballast ratio depending on crew load. Front and center tanks full w 50lb lead and sometimes crew body or two up front. All these pics had no one in bow area this time out.
