    Hi All

Joining the thread. I have a 2002 SANTE and have been trying different things. I tried this contraption this weekend and it mad the boat impossible to steer. I tried it with stock ballast (2 rear tanks and one in the center) and it really didn't work well at all. With 5 people in the boat the wake was so steep and close to the stern that it really wasnt fun. It also dumped a ton of water in the boat because of the spray coming off the back of the fin.

Long story short, I would love to copy your system. One thing that was not clear was how much ballast you are running. Are you using the stock tanks in the rear and adding another in the ski locker? I am wondering if my stock tanks will work. I have 2 in the rear and one in the center.

Thanks for the compliments. Simplysanj I will try and get some more photos/video this weekend if I remember.

Jangelides My ballast setup is stock tanks in rear, fat sac in centre ski locker, (not sure on size but it fills the locker that much that it bulges the locker hatch outwards). As I live in the UK and fuel prices are so high I have mine converted to run LPG. So I have 2 x 65 litre Lpg tanks in the rear also. one either side of the engine on top of the ballast tanks. As for ballast whilst surfing I have centre full and the tank full on the side we are surfing. We tend to have roughly a quarter to half full ballast on the opposite side.

I am pleased with how the surf plates work at the moment. However I do think I need to improve the push somehow. I am so close to finishing a 360 on the surf but just dropping off the back of the wave. The next one I make will also go downward and I will try to make the movement bigger for the plate So I can try to dial the wave in better.

Thanks for the info. Going out again this weekend so we will see how that weight config works. Cheers

Here is what we came up with. We removed the swim platform bracket and this way didnt have to cut holes. We put 4x4x 1/4inch angle and then some HDPE. Works fairly well. Wake here.

So here is the updated setup. You can see it throws a huge wake. We extended the plate so it goes about 1.75 inches out past the side edge and 1' below the bottom.

The weight setup was as follows:
Factory tanks Mid, and 2 rears full
          400 additional in bow
          300 additional in Port locker
          8 people

          One huge wake!!!!!

Nice work! Is the plate easily removable for wakeboarding and cruising?

Yes. Super easy. Takes about a minute. Just some bolts and wing nuts. The effort is in the moving of the ballast but it is all part of the action.

jangelides....Did you really mean (1) "foot" below the bottom or was it supposed to be (1) "inch"?
12 inches seems like a lot not to snap like a tooth pick.
