Ok so I got a bit side tracked when my surf plate didn't go quite as well as I would have hoped for, while that's back to the drawing board I got a little bored and decided to make myself a jump seat out of some bits and pieces I had lying around.
I made the base out of 18mm ply and copied the pattern from a friend's seat. Unfortunately I got carried away and didn't take any pictures during the build of the base so just took some once built. I covered in some black carpet I had as I didn't have grey.
I then made some backing pieces and cut some foam and stuck them together
Then I wrapped the backing pieces with some vinyl I had and simply stapled them at the rear.
Once done I screwerd the seat and back rest into position from inside the base
The colours don't exactly match my 01 sans grey and white colors but I'm just going to use it for this season then get it covered with the right colors next winter. And I would also like to have the vinyl wrapped around the backing pieces better and look more like how my other seats look.
I know I only used ply wood I had and I know it won't last forever but I made it all out of bits and pieces I had in my garage so it doesn't matter that I may have to build a better one in the future.
Now I have done this I plan on making my back seat wrap all the way around to the drivers seat like some earlier sans/supersports.
I will take another pic of the seat when I take it to the boat at the weekend.
