Hi Guys and Gals,
I haven't been active here for ages so I thought I would post a cool project that I have been working on for the past year to upgrade my boat aesthetics. As I am a new dad of nearly 2 years, I don't get a lot of chance to ride these days so I am devoting more time to my "man cave"/boat house projects.
The first of which is this that went like this:
1) Buy an FCT3 tower from N3 (in 2013), comes in 3 pieces - 2 sides + center ($3K + 1K freight + taxes)
2) Get a friend to machine down the center piece by 4 inches to fit the 80 inch beam (complex but free luckily)
3) Remove the old tower (sold for $1K)
4) Place new tower
5) Re-enforce underside (in progress)
6) Get custom aluminum plates machined for underside
7) Drill and mount + boardracks + spinners ($900 Nautique OEM off-inventory from Roswell)
8) Enjoy (without pissing off my hubby by spending 130K on another new toy that I rarely use)
As this is a weekend project, I will be finished all this in about 2-4 weeks and it should be mounted within 2 weeks so more pics to come.
Oh yeah, all the dated stickers have been removed and the boat polished, maybe will be wrapped in carbon fiber or brushed black stainless vinyl and/or chromemax SAN lettering to come. Anybody have a hookup on OEM Chromax, $600 per side is a bit rough?
My next project will be to add Supra or Mastercraft Gen 2 style trim tabs (parts ordered). Anybody want to collaborate?
Cheers!
