Worth the $30. Saved me over $200 by not having to add fat sacks when it's just my wife and I. Suckgates are awesome ðŸ‘

I am planning on building one of these as I'm getting old and am going to start wakesurfing. I ride regular so I will be on the port side riding. With this gate do I put it on the port or starboard side for a port side wave? Sorry if its a stupid question.

Suck gate works AMAZING. If you haven't built one yet do it. I'm running 3400 lbs 60/40 rear/front and our surf wake is really good

I just wanted to post a pic and a video about my DIY Surf Gate for my 2011 SAN 210. I have made 10 of these now for friends and family, and for boats like Master Craft X2's, Malibu VTX, VLX, MXZ's and a couple AXIS Vandall's as well and this thing works awesome. I tried the following angles; 45, 60 and 80 and with no significant difference in the wake I chose the 45 deg only because it had the least amount of pull to the side it was mounted on. I did not want to put any more stress on the steering than Click image for larger version

For all you guys that got it working, do you get a lot of side spray off the suckgate? I tried one last night and was getting a lot of spray. I was running 2 (400) backs off the side of the doghouse on a sport nautique. I was thinking I needed more weight to sink the suckgate lower in the water.

Scott_Mead Did you experiment with the size of the plate at all? Sounds like the angle didn't change anything by much but curious if the size of the plate makes a big difference to the height, length, or push.

Vanhanbr... Is there a gap between your plate and the boat? I heard if you have a gap it creates spray. Try to get the plate as close to the boat as possible. I also seen some people put a piece of foam between the boat and plate. Not 100% sure if that is the issue.

Zmitchell8, I did not try different sizes of the actual gate part. This seems to work and I have had so many people ride behind or even in the boat that are so impressed I am making 4 or 5 a week right now. That video of my daughter does not do it any justice, the wake is bigger than it looks in the video. My one buddy that rides with me all the time can ride that far back as well and he is about 190 lbs so there is a tonne of push with it. It has been the best thing I have done to the boat by far. And it is a cheap addition as well, I don't have to spend the $900 canadian on the Ronix or $700 on the Delta. For a $45.00 suction cup and some puck board. It is wicked.

Also to answer the spray question the answer is no we don't get any spray in the boat. It stays dry
