    My ballast install

    Hi everyone,
I want to share my ballast install in 2002 SS. Hopefully newcomers will find it usefull. It is very simple set up and it worked great. One 1.5in thru hull feeding 3 pumps filling and draining. I didn't drill new holes in hull, I just used existing hole from paddle wheel speedometer. I still have speedo but its gps based now.

Also smart to have a shut off valve. Many installations skip that basic safety item.

Nice job. Have any pictures of the inlet / outlet manifold? Did you just make a log with some Tees?

Thank you for the interest. There is alternative to drill separate holes but I wanted to try existing hole. Shot off valve is must. Got almost everything from Wakemakers. Some pics during install.

            1. Got paddle wheel out

            3. Manifolds 1,1/4 vs 1,1/2. I went with 1,1/2

Looks like you replaced the corroded motor mount hardware too with stainless. Is that right?

can you please share where you got that or nut and washer sizes?

id like to do the same and have parts in hand to install vs remove, measure, order and wait etc.

                thanks !!

DW SD, I got Bronze Thru hull 1,1/2 at Wakemakers, it came with nut. The rest of 1,1/2 bronze parts including shot off valve I got from local plumbing supply. I got a bag of cast iron parts to play with at first and then when I knew which parts I need I swaped with bronze ones.
Motor mount is the same I just cleaned it with wire brush.
