Finally got the carpet so I could move forward with this project! Got the bracket mounted for the new false wall...
I'm still deciding whether to add a bracket at the top... so far it seems stable and it is kinda wedged between the outer hull and sub enclosure so I don't think it will be an issue.
Just have a clean up a few things, finish the floor carpet, and this will finally be done. Now if I could get my tower back from the welder so it can be powder coated/installed I'll be ready for Spring riding!!!Jason

Nice! Where's the fuse block in this boat? The underdash on my 2004 206 is a massive mess. In the kick board there's the fuse block, 2 heater outlets, the perfect pass module and a speaker. And the way the heatercore / heater feed lines run, I can't get the panel to push back to the side anchor point. The L bracket at the bottom attaches.
I am totally envious of the amount of space you have under the dash.

I'm not sure how much space there is on a 206 compared to a 210... It might be tighter.Jason

Did you reposition your heater core? Mine (I believe) is a 3 outlet box (no Y but not 100% sure on that) and it's hung somehow from the dash with brackets. You may have motivated me to get in there and clean it all up.

No mine is where the factory installed it on the floor. Can’t say I’ve seen one hung from brackets before... that would actually help make more space on the floor I think.

So I poked around under my 206 dash last weekend to see what was possible....pretty ugly. Here's what I found.
- Massive 3 port heater unit
- Looks like it was installed post factory as I can't imagine the factory doing such a hack job
- On the outboard side, the heater is top mounted with a couple screws to the ventilation plenum
- On the inboard side, the heater is zip tied - yes, really...no BS - to the foot panel bracing rail
The position of the heater tubes prevents the foot board from attaching to the support rails - doing so would effectively crush the the heater tubs.
After some inspections, I didn't see any easy way to remount the heater without a complete disassembly and assessment. It was unclear if there was room to even move the heater further forward in the pilot doghouse. The forward outboard side of the heater hits the hull and as you can see, there is no room on the inboard side. In the picture below, I have lifted up the inboard side - the zip ties don't provide any vertical support so the heater box actually rests on the floor.
As it's apparently been working this way for some time, I decided to kick the can for now and just buttoned the whole thing back up. Maybe if get some more time and the gumption to really get after it, I'd have to dive back in there, strip it all out and see whats possible.
Of course...if anyone has any ideas...love to hear them.

It doesn't look as if you have as much space as a 210, but I think it could still be done... not with that heater though! That thing is HUGE!!! Definitely an aftermarket install and I don't understand having a 3 outlet heater still adding a Y to split it. My heater sits in the floor basically to the right of that bundle of cables. Water hoses come from the left side and outlets on the right. You would need a smaller model heater if you want to keep heat, but I still think it could be cleaned up under there. You don't have the "hump" so the hard part is already done!Jason

Yeah...pretty much my assessment as well. The system has 4 heat outlets configured. Two in the kickpanel, one extendable passenger tube mounted hose under the dash. The Y feeds the windshield defogger.
In the picture, the hoses are pushed on top and not in their typical position. From left to right...
a) Feeds the passenger tube
b) Feeds one of the two footwell outlets
c) Y's to feed footwell #2 and the defogger..
I will say this...the thing pushes out a stupid amount of heat....even with the fan on low, it's almost too hot.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)
