DIY Perfect Pass fix- dim screen /blank screen

    Hi all,
This is to remedy moisture buildup in the perfect pass gauge. If all else fails I’ll plunk down the cash for the stargazer model.

I used tuck tape to seal the back, the silicon spray to coat the board, and silica packets to make sure the interior of the gauge stays dry. Also I added some vents in my boat cover. The boat sits outside on occasion.

I attempted to superglue some of the packets but they seem pretty slick and wouldn’t take to the inside of the gauge.

Should be sealed uptight this tape does NOT let go. And the silica should hopefully do the trick.

Been using it for about five hours so far. Perfect pass is working fine no issues!

Will know in a few more weeks how the heat and humidity under the cover may or may not affect the fix.

The boat is typically stored inside but occasionally I’ll leave it covered out at the lake.

Just checking in on the first month.

Probably about 15 hours on the boat and the perfect pass is still working 100%!

biacs So, what's the process for getting the gauge out of the dash?

            Overall process from memory:

Remove the top dash screws and thumbscrew
Remove audio control drip metal brace- screws in behind
Pull dash panel forward for access
Perfect pass is held from behind w nut as I recall w a bracket across the back.

It was painful fist time, now it’s 3 minutes to pop off :-)
