Add strut to Drainplug/ vdrive door?

Hi all
for some reason I was having difficulty mounting a small shock to my service door where the drain plug is.

Can anyone give me the specifics + a picture of where they mounted and what hardware they used?

It’s a very short hatch and I can’t seem to get the combo right lol!!
