Yes, I have repaired a couple of the larger gauges for another member. The stepper motor is very challenging to replace since you have to separate the LCD panel. I ended up replacing the aluminum electrolytic caps with corresponding ceramics and that did the trick. Note that unlike the smaller gauges the values of these caps are different. I need to do another YouTube on the larger gauges sometime. Private message me if you want me to fix them.

Please do! This would be another amazing gift to the faria survival community.

TechBeer We pulled our gateway today and found it to be pristine. Makes sense though since the gauges that have died for us are the 2 big ones, the speedo and tach. How much harder are the bigger gauges? I assume I'm gonna have to pull them and check them out to see if thats our culprit or not. Happy to send them up if it helps you to make a video for others.

Possible repair candidate. Been for sale for some time at $100; bet you could get a big discount with an offer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/285894195787

I would NOT buy a gauge off eBay. It is going to have the same design flaw as the original ones. The only exception would be if your original gauge had some cosmetic flaw. Private message me if you want me to fix them.

TechBeer I have a 2005 SANTE 210 that has bad Faria gauges. I bought the boat 2 years ago with the pitot tubes already disconnected from the gateway box. After purchasing every gauge worked well for about 2 sessions, then they have been off and on since. I have yet to crack open the gateway box and check out the circuit board from corrosion, but plan on doing it soon. I do have perfect past so my tach/speedo gauges work. My temp, fuel, and oil pressure are all intermittently working. My voltage gauge however is just dead. Not sure on if the backlighting is working either. Anyways, I am reaching out to you to inquire if you are still repairing these. I would like mine repaired to save some money and not replace my OEM gauges that I think look best. Please feel free to reply to me back on here. I currently cannot send PM's because I just created my account and am still in a newbie phase. Thank you very much for your time reading this.

Thank you so much for the outstanding post and video. I've worked with electronics but have zero experience with stepper motors. I understand the X27 168 sizing, but do the second set of numbers at the top of the motor have significance for this repair? (091>31x1). I have not been able to locate stepper motors with the same top numbers.
I've seen a wide variety on Amazon-and I'd hate to do this repair only to be using an incompatible stepper motor. Any advice you could give me would be welcome.

These are the ones I ordered and used. They worked.

SamuelA20 - Sorry for the delay. Yes, I believe you have several bad gauges and yes, I can repair them. You should be able to PM me, I don't think there is a block on "newbies". If you still have issues let me know.

Willport - What briantin says looks correct for the stepper motors. HOWEVER......what I said in my video is not completely accurate. What I have found repairing ~20-30 of these is that the SMT capacitors are more critical than the stepper motors. So...if you do repair the gauges you MUST replace the AlEl caps with ceramics. They are different for the small gauges vs. the large one. Again, private message me if you want me to do it.

I agree with TechBeer on the capacitors. The last gauge I repaired I only did the capacitors to make the job easier and it fixed the gauge.

I too am in need of having the electrolytic capacitors replaced in the gauges on my smaller gauges on my 2004 226 Air Nautique. I’m new and cannot PM. Please email me at jla@eclectic-holdings.com if you offer the cap repair service. I will pull the gauges and send them to you.

Three of my gauges quit working this summer. First the oil pressure gauge, then the fuel gauge started ticking and now only works sporadically, and most recently the engine temp isn't registering. Watched the video and seems complex for my soldering skills. I'm new to this site and therefore cannot PM. Interested in sending to TechBeer for repair if he can PM me. I can remove the bezels.

I had zero soldering skills and fixed my fuel and oil pressure gauges. I'm sure TechBeer would be glad to do yours though if he sees your post.
