    2006 SANTE 210 Gauge Replacement

I have a 2006 Nautique 210 and looking to update my gauges. Like many of you, I have been on the waitlist for the Faria Gateway conversion kit, and still waiting. All of my gauges work, but after 17 years they are showing their age. See below

After almost a year of looking for the original gauges or someone to refurbish them, I came across these gauges below from SkiBoatPartsOnline.com and ordered a set. Medallion Conversion Kit - Correct Craft - TRD-2001-CC

TRD - Medallion Conversion kit to replace the Medallion MDC controlled gauges to a conventional instrument package and a more accurate GPS speedometer.
    Available in Black or White.

DESIGNED FOR BOATS WITH EXISTING PERFECT PASS SPEED CONTROL
TRD Conversion kit to replace the Faria / Gateway controlled gauges to conventional TRD analog gauges (except speedo, this is a GPS speedo)
BASIC REPLACEMENT KIT - does not include the depth or water temp/air temp (this can be achieved by adding an optional 2" depth finder w/ temps)

Kit Includes: (1) TRD 5" GPS Speedometer, (1) 5" TRD Tach w/ hrs, (1) 2" TRD Voltmeter, (1) 2" TRD Oil Pres., (1) 2" TRD Temp., (1) TRD Fuel gauge, custom wire harness with back-lighting color selection between Red or White, and a solid state time delay relay to conserve battery power, multi-pin easy plug connections at gauges, Connector for Check Eng. Light, Connections for 12v outlet, 2 Year Limited Warranty.

The kit was very easy to install and all plug and play. The gauges have a locking collar that holds the new gauges firmly in place. In my opnion, a much better design than the Faria ones. Take a look below.

What a difference from old to new, and no more Faria Gateway Box.

I've heard people bitch about the price of their conversion along with the comments that you can do the same for considerably less if you do the homework yourself. IDK, if it were me I'd go the same direction you did. Sure I could probably figure it out and put together a package myself but there's a ton to be said about buying a package with support that has already been proven.

    Great work, I like it!

Nice work! I assume the Perfect Pass still runs through the Gateway box, correct? Do you lose your engine hours in the conversion?

The TRD Kit currently is $1,295.95 with free shipping. The Nautique Kit is $1,333.33 plus shipping and they still do not have an estimate of when it will be available. Plus from the latest information on nautiqueparts.com website the 5" gauges do not match the 2" gauges. The Faria kit has individual wires that have to be connected to each gauge with wire nuts. I myself prefer the plug and play feature of this kit, and everything is marked and color coded for simple install.

The TRD kit has a two year warranty limited warranty.

Below is a picture of the TRD wiring harnes.

skiboatpartsonline.com offers a Faria conversion kit as well ($1,395.95 with free shipping), but the Faria gauges are in limited supply and getting harder to find. All kits are built to order, which is really cool and I am sold on the quality and support. Ron is a wealth of knowledge.

I am very appreciative of the staff at nautiqueparts.com, PCM, and skiboatparts.com as they help to keep my 2006 Nautique running. As you know, parts and support for the older boats are getting harder and harder to find.

And this forum is AWESOME - Thank you Jeff for all you do!!

I replaced upgraded my Perfect Pass to the Star Gazer system, and replaced the dash gauge as the sun has been very unkind to the display. I just had to tap into a power supply (one wire for power) I will post pictures and instructions when I get time.

Yes, the hour meter resets to 0.0 when you do the change, but the same is true for the Nautique Faria conversion kit. The hours are stored in the ECM. I always write my current hours on the oil filter when I change it, so I just keep track of it this way.

I hope you find this helpful and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks. I upgraded to StarGazer last year, but it still plugs into my Gateway (which thankfully is working well for now).

My Gateway still works, and I actually have a complete new set up Nautique gauges as well. I decided to make the change now and just hold onto the old units (Crazy I know).
I am removing my gateway box and all the unneeded wires to give it that clean look under the dash area. I might add a heater or some additional stereo improvements, haven't quite decided what my next project will be on the boat.

196Mike, thanks for posting this. I was about to pull the trigger on this same kit. No issues with the perfect pass stargazer?

                  BigRedSV211,

No issues with the StarGazer unit at all. I purchased a new PerfectPass gauge that plugs directly into the StarGazer unit. If you have this type of set up, you will have to find a power source for the StarGazer unit. I will post pictures soon of where I tapped into the power source.

If you have the old style PerfectPass guage, you probably have a jumper cable that you purchased from PerfectPass, this runs the StarGazer unit through your Gateway Box. If you are not removing the Gateway Box, then you are good to go.If you decide to remove the Gateway Box, then you will have to find a power source for the StarGazer unit.

Mark at PerfectPass was a huge help with completing the setup.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

What did you do with those old gauges?? I’m assuming they still work, are you interested in selling any of them?

I've got my old gauges that were working when I replaced them. The volt gauge and fuel gauge were somewhat finicky but still worked. The tach worked. I'll send you a PM.

ID:	663267 I just finished my replacement with TRD Gauges. I agree with everything Mike provided. This post helped me with my install. I’ll have my boat at the lake in the next few weeks for testing.

I had all gauges and Perfect Pass die over the winter. This was my 2nd gateway that I bought new in 2013. The gateway must have died to kill everything at once. My Speedo was dead for the last 2-years.

I had to replacement my entire dashboard and the silver dash panel (they were cracked). The gauges are easy. Mounting the panel studs to the silver panel is very tricky.

Im happy with the replacement. Better than waiting 6 months for Faria gauges that don’t match. As long as the TRD gauges work, I’ll be pleased. I couldn’t go all summer with no gauges at all.

I’ll tackle Perfect Pass/star gazer next winter.
