    Gmund,

Looks great. The wiring for the PP Stargazer system was very easy to install. I used the Purple Wire from the P15 plug and put it into the P11 Connector. Then I ran the red power wire into the P11 connector to an open pin. I will post pictures next time I am under the dash.

Good deal. Yeah I’ll have to think about wiring next winter when I tackle PP. On one hand, I want to remove the gateway and all the harnesses (and throw them in the lake). On the other, I also want to leave the existing wiring alone so that anyone else who works on my boat won’t be confused by an extra pin in a factory connector that isn’t supposed to have it (for example). Or any other changes I might conjure up. I have spent years unwinding other people’s wiring schemes, from logical to spaghetti wiring. It usually isn’t fun.

On another positive note, I launched the boat yesterday and am happy to say all of the TRD gauges work perfectly. 100% success and I would absolutely recommend the TRD kit to anyone. I got one of the remaining “last generation” TRD kits from Ron Tanis where the divisions are 200 RPM and 2 MPH. He said if I waited until May/June 2023 (about now), the new style will have 100/1 increments. I checked GPS speedo as accurate as you can. It was within a MPH of Waze GPS. The RPM/Speed ratio is about the same as I remember from the last time my Faria gauges worked right. Better still, I have temp, oil, volt, and fuel info now. Better than waiting 6-12 month on Faria gauges.

I am about to tackle this as the only gauge I have left is the perfect pass (waiting on white) ..
        Question ..

My warning light is on I was told it's most likely due to the gauge not working. I was wondering if ya'll had the same issue before swapping to the new setup?

Also, I was told the perfect pass is separate from the gateway box other than power. So if I find another power source, I can dump the gateway box? and keep the PP?(paddle wheel)
        thanks

I would call Perfect Pass. They have been incredibly helpful when I have called them for help.

Which warning light is on? The check engine light? It does not run through the gateway box so if your check engine light is on it is something else.

            I hope this helps.

              Malibud,

I never had the check engine light come on when any of my gauges died.

That is correct the warning light is signaled from ECU so its separate getting codes read next week .
                thanks

Looks great. Did you just forego the depth finder? Air/water temp is a nice to have, but a depth guage seems more important.

                    Dank,

You are correct, I did lose the ability to see the depth, air, and water temp. Here was my thought about the depth gauge. If you are unfamiliar with the water then the depth would be an issue. If you are moving along at a pretty good speed, when the depth alarm goes off, by the time you back off the throttle you may not avoid hitting bottom.

To be honest, I have never really used or payed attention to the depth, temp, or air built into the speedo. I run in fresh water and able to see the bottom if I am coming into shallow water. If this becomes an issue, I will install a Faria Depth Gauge (if I can find one) and put it in the dash, or down by the ballast gauges.

                    Thanks for the question.

My first post EVER on a message board. My thanks to all of you guys, I mean it--I generally use these things to research how to do something, but I've never become a member and never posted.

I"m new to boating, I purchased my 04 Nautique in August 2022. The oil gauge failed in October 2022. I took the boat to the dealer, he says "you need all new gauges, gonna cost $2k plus labor." I said BS. I researched this site, and found TRD. (Turns out the dealer was high priced, but not bluffing me....)

I purchased the conversion kit / Faria elimination kit, and got to work. I'm mechanically inclined, but NOT electrical. Bottom line, the kit is TOP QUALITY and the installation is very simple. If you can change your own oil in your car, you can do this. It's an OEM style wiring harness and gauges.

I go to install it, and nothing. No battery voltage, nothing works. I call Ski Boat Parts Online, and Ron personally answers the phone. Short version, he has me test various pins with my multimeter and I find the red and yellow wires ( "always hot" and "hot on ignition") are swapped in the factory harness. I later find there is no fuel level (no pink wire) in the factory harness. Ron walks me through all of this, including sending me a length of pink marine wire and a pin no charge. I follow his instructions, and everything works like a charm.

I cannot say enough how satisfied I am with the TRD gauge replacement kit and the support provided by Ski Boat Parts Online.

If you've got an older Nautique with the Faria box, do not waste your time or money trying to replace these old digital gauges from Faria / Correct Craft. Convert to the old schoot, reliable, standard analogs gauges using the TRD conversion kit. You will not be disappointed. TRD parts are top notch.

GeezerWakeboarder I love this! I really want to try out this kit, and I have the perfect boat, a 2005 211 that is on my restoration list. So glad to see another positive review for this kit!!

I want to echo @GeezerWakeboarder - awesome forum, a wealth of info here and also my first post (plus I love Ron's YouTube videos from Ski Boat Parts Online). I upgraded from my 1986 Ski Nautique to a 2005 Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition but the gas gauge was dead. Previous owner trailered and fueled on way to lake but I have a lift so I got in line for the conversion kit from NautiqueParts. Finally got notice I could order in January so I did, then it was like being stuck at an airport with the constant delays and no shipping. As documented to factory kit has switched the 5" gauges and while I normally prefer function over form, I don't need a trim gauge and I really didn't like the look. Fortunately, while I was emailing back and forth with NautiqueParts on a separate order they mentioned they were creating their own gauge kit to go with the factory harness. Same deal as the Medallion, have to give up a 2" gauge and it doesn't include the depth, water/air temp gauge. I received it and it looks great (pic below), now just debating when I want tackle this and/or if I want to do it on the lift or pull the boat out of the water.

Any advice on how long of a job this is? The instructions look relatively simple and everything is well marked, so that makes me feel like I will way underestimate the time required (my wife says I lack this skill).

wbclark23233 - Well… after waiting nearly 6 months, I got a little impatient when Nautique Parts said they had created their own kit, only to see on the OG210 Facebook group that they in fact shipped the proper factory gauges (like yours) less than 2 weeks after I posted, but oh well, my wife wasn't toooooo mad about spending the extra dough on the dual air/water depth sounder. I did all the work on my boat lift, which was actually fine because I had a few nice breezy days to work, but like I said it took me several days...
                              • My gauge panel was held on with one remaining stud and wingnut, so I drilled to re-attach to the helm wrap, both which also could stand to be replaced, but it doesn't really bother me. Shocking how nasty it can be under the helm, so I cleaned all that up as well. It did take some time.
                              • I always felt like the Perfect Pass buttons were a little awkward to get to based on the way I sit, so I moved it all the way to the left, which actually helped with the rest of the wiring. Nautique Parts had of course substituted the gauge harness to fit their kit so I had to make my own connections for the dual depth/Air/Water gauge because I didn’t want to wait/search for Deutch connector parts. NP also failed to send me the 2-sided adhesive tape for the GPS Speedo antenna and ring terminals. Connections made, no big deal, but a little annoying and took some extra time.
                              • I had pulled my hard tanks this spring in favor of Fatsac 750s so I put the voltmeter down where one of the dead ballast tank gauges was. A little extra time but honestly was one of the easier things. I had replaced the 12v outlet in the dash with a digital voltmeter/USB charging unit so it was redundant anyway.
                              • The 25' harness is plenty long. It was a bit of a pain to route and secure and I picked up 2 handfuls of fiberglass splinters (could not do the fine manipulation with gloves on). While routing I realized that the wires to my 3-way toggle switch were loose so I tightened, only to find that one terminal was actually about to break off. (Are you starting to see why I struggled?) I replaced that with a marine rotary battery switch that I had on hand so now when I turn on the batteries, the bilge is automatically on (which personally I prefer because I never remembered to turn them on).
                              • So now I go to make the connections, first the analog harness in the helm. This is the point when I said to myself, wait, what? An analog harness with all of the wires I need are already here to begin with? What is the point of that 25’ harness I just struggled with?!? I see where the SkiBoatPartsOnline Medallion kit would have been way easier. I have lived, I have learned.
                              • I removed the gateway box and found that my air temperature sensor was right next to the engine (explains why the old digital gauge read a little high) so I rerouted that to be by the vent in the starboard locker and secured. I was able to swing all of the connections into that locker as well behind a false wall I built to keep the Fatsac from rubbing.
                              • That is when I then found that my 2005 had the wiring of a 2002-2004 to the Faria gateway box, because my 12 pin Deutch (P11) only had 1 wire (nav light switch for instrument backlight). That one took me a bit to figure out because it made me question what a possible previous owner could have done when the diagrams didn’t match until I located the older gateway manual. I won't mention that when I was concerned about the mismatch, I didn't plug in any of the connectors so my first test had an obvious problem :-).
I am really happy with the end result overall and fixed a bunch of other things along the way. It is strange how much enjoyment a guy can get from watching a fuel gauge work as you fill and drain the tank – although burning gas is the fun part of a boat. Hope it helps someone.
