Official Aktion Parks Press Release:
ORLANDO, FL (May 21, 2024) - This past weekend, Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC) was thrilled to host two remarkable events that highlighted the spirit of inclusivity in watersports. Partnering with Ann's Angels Adaptive Waterski Foundation and Above the Wake, OWC brought together individuals of all abilities to create unforgettable experiences on the water.
On Saturday, May 26th, OWC hosted Ann's Angels Adaptive Waterski Foundation's event, welcoming 13 riders for a day of adaptive waterskiing behind the Nautique G-23. With 26 pulls throughout the day, participants with varying needs experienced the thrill of watersports.
John Lipscomb, President of Ann's Angels, shared, "Ann's Angels team, collaborating with Aktion Parks and Nautique, succeeded in crafting enduring memories for all participants and families at Orlando Watersports Complex."
Celebrating its 10th year at OWC, Above the Wake's event on May 19th brought together over 30 riders on the autistic spectrum. Participants learned to ride at different levels, from knee boarding to wakeboarding and tubing, fostering a sense of achievement and joy.
Tom Hart, Executive Director for Above the Wake, stated, "Our mission for Above the Wake is all about embracing the inclusion of watersports! Working with OWC for our 10th year has allowed us to foster a community of amazing individuals, learning they too can enjoy watersports."
Kellan Rudnicki, Director of Operations at Aktion Parks, expressed, "Working with these incredible organizations allows us to make life better for countless individuals each year and promote inclusivity on the water—a truly rewarding aspect of our work."
These events underscore OWC's commitment to making watersports accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We are proud to partner with Ann's Angels and Above the Wake, continuing to build a welcoming and inclusive community on the water.
