Official Aktion Parks Press Release:
Orlando, FL (August 28, 2024) - Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC) recently partnered with Ann's Angels Adaptive Waterski Foundation to host a transformative day on the water at OWC, dedicated to teaching disabled individuals how to waterski. This remarkable event brought together 22 riders of varying needs, many of whom experienced watersports for the first time, behind the iconic Ski Nautique 200.
Ann's Angels is an all-volunteer team committed to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for individuals with physical and mental disabilities through waterskiing and wakeboarding events. The foundation's volunteers, affectionately referred to as "Angels," are the backbone of the organization, providing the support and dedication necessary to make these life-changing experiences possible.
"Ann's Angels team, working alongside Aktion Parks and Nautique, managed to create lasting experiences for everyone involved and their families at Orlando Watersports Complex," said John Lipscomb, President of Ann's Angels.
Kellan Rudnicki, Director of Operations for Aktion Parks, added: "Nothing is quite as special as offering the chance to individuals who never thought they could try waterskiing. These moments are what truly inspire our team to make life better."
The event underscored the commitment of both OWC and Ann's Angels to inclusivity in watersports, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their physical or mental challenges, has the opportunity to enjoy the thrill and freedom of being on the water.
The OWC staff and volunteers played a crucial role in making the day a success, exemplifying the shared mission of both organizations to make watersports accessible and enjoyable for all.
