Mountain Home, AR (August 19, 2016) -Bass Cat recently donated a 2016 Margay and trailer to be given to the winner of the First Annual Ike Celebrity Pro-Am Bass Fishing Tournament held Saturday, August 6th on the Camden Waterfront near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The tournament coincided with a day of family fun consisting of a giveaway of free Flambeau tackle boxes and assorted fishing lures to the first 750 children, carnival games, youth fishing instruction, silent auctions, along with music and food on the waterfront. Bass Cats donation of a 2016 Margay boat & trailer valued over $20,000 created huge buzz for the event, enticing 102 anglers making up thirty-eight teams to participate in hopes of winning first place and the new Bass Cat.
All proceeds from the event will benefit The Ike Foundation, founded by Bass Cat Pro Angler Mike Iaconelli, in its mission to get more kids into fishing and the outdoors. In addition to Bass Cats donation of the first prize boat, thirty-four other businesses and organizations offered their support to assist the youth fishing fundraiser.
Bass Cat President Rick Pierce stated, Mike has always had a passion for youth angling and growing the sport. He is truly motivated by the energy and excitement of youngsters learning to appreciate the outdoors and developing a passion for fishing that will last a lifetime. Debbie and Russ, at Wood Boat & Motor, were extremely enthused to have the opportunity to share this experience and we cant thank them enough!
