Official IWWF Press Release:
Unteraegeri, Switzerland (February 11, 2016) -- The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF), the world governing body for Towed Water Sports, is recognized as the sole authority for Waterski and Wakeboard by the International Olympic Committee. With over 90 affiliated National Federations, it was founded in 1946. Correct Craft has been a major innovator in the marine industry for over 90 years and owns Nautique Boat Company. Correct Craft has also acquired both Centurion Boats and Supreme Boats. Its other acquisitions include Bass Cat, Yar-Craft, PCM Marine Engines, Crusader Engines, Levitator Engines and three boat and cable parks.
Two major agreements were announced by the IWWF – one for the official Waterski boat supplier and one for the official Wakeboard boat supplier.
IWWF signed a major ten-year agreement naming Nautique as the exclusive boat provider for the many Waterski World Championships for the period 2016 to 2025. These events include the World Waterski Championships, World Junior Waterski Championships, World Under 21 Waterski Championships, World Over 35 Waterski Championships, World University Waterski Championships and World Disabled Waterski Championships.
"This long term partnership with Correct Craft is the beginning of a new era and opens many exciting new opportunities for the IWWF. We greatly appreciate their generous support and are proud to co-operate with one of the leading and most successful companies of the Watersports industry,” stated Kuno Ritschard, IWWF President. Nautique President Greg Meloon also stated “We are extremely excited to further our partnership with the IWWF and look forward to working together to promote Waterskiing at the highest level all over the globe".
IWWF also signed a major agreement with Correct Craft subsidiary, Centurion Boats, which will be the official Wakeboard boat provider. Already, the strong position of Centurion in the sports of both Wakeboard and Surf Boats has gained wide recognition and respect. When asked about this new Wakeboard agreement, Paul Singer, President of Centurion & Supreme Boats stated, “We are very excited about this opportunity, not just for the ability to showcase our boats’ dominant Wakeboard performance on the international stage but also for the opportunity to work with the IWWF. There is no water sports group, domestic or international, which does more for Waterskiing, Wakeboarding and the athletes who love these sports.”
