Official Correct Craft Press Release:
Orlando, FL (July 20, 2018) - Today, at its Orlando offices, Correct Craft hosted a roundtable of boating industry leaders who met with U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan on issues related to tax reform and global trade. Representative Buchanan, an influential member of the House Committee on Ways and Means and chairman of its Tax Policy Subcommittee, has been asked by House Speaker Paul Ryan to survey business leaders to recommend improvements to the tax reform bill passed late last year by Congress and signed by President Trump.
Boating industry executives shared with Rep. Buchanan both the benefits of the tax reform bill along with suggested improvements. Additionally, since the global trade war has become such a significant issue to the boating industry, the group shared with Rep. Buchanan the challenges companies in our industry are having with both U.S. tariffs and the retaliatory tariffs from our trading partners.
Following the boating industry leaders’ meeting with Rep. Buchanan, the group transitioned to another meeting, also hosted by Correct Craft, of leaders from around Florida who met with the Representative regarding the same topics. Mark Wilson, President of the Florida Chamber, moderated this combined meeting of boating industry and Florida leaders.
Bill Yeargin, President and CEO of Correct Craft stated, “Our team was honored to host Representative Buchanan as he met with leaders from both the boating industry and then leaders from across the state of Florida. We appreciate Representative Buchanan listening to the leaders’ concerns and particularly for his interest regarding the impact of the global trade war on the boating industry.” Yeargin added, “We are grateful that Correct Craft had the opportunity to support our industry and the state of Florida by hosting these meetings. I appreciate my friend Mark Wilson and the Florida Chamber for giving us the opportunity to serve in this manner.”
