Official Correct Craft Press Release:
Orlando, FL (February 21, 2019) - Today Jack Barsky, former Soviet KGB agent and author of the book Deep Undercover: My Secret Life and Tangles Allegiances as a KGB Spy in America, visited the Correct Craft and Nautique Boats’ Orlando facility and spoke at an all-employee meeting to share his experiences.
Barsky, an East German recruited by the Soviet KGB, spent several years as an undercover agent in the U.S. He wrote about his story growing up in East Germany, being recruited by the KGB, serving deep undercover in the U.S. and post-spy life in the fascinating book, Deep Undercover. Barsky shared spy stories with the Correct Craft and Nautique teams and discussed his post-Cold War transformation to a U.S. citizen.
As a surprise guest, Correct Craft and Nautique also welcomed back Michele Rigby Assad during Barsky’s visit. Assad, an ex-CIA agent who authored the book Breaking Cover: My Secret Life in the CIA and What It Taught Me about What’s Worth Fighting For had previously spoken to the Correct Craft and Nautique team last year. It was unique and fun experience to have both authors at the factory at the same time.
Barsky and Assad have both spoken to Correct Craft employees as part of a program that brings authors, athletes, business leaders and other inspirational speakers to the company. This program is in place to inspire employees and enhance the company culture.
Correct Craft’s President and CEO Bill Yeargin stated, “Our team was thrilled to hear Jack Barsky speak to us and see Michele Assad again. They both have interesting, compelling and inspirational stories and books.” Yeargin added, “We are excited to continue our program of bringing inspirational speakers in for our team. This is a benefit we have offered our team that is part of our ‘Making Life Better’ culture.”
