Sweetwater, TN (April 22, 2019) - Recently, Correct Craft’s Tennessee facility hosted students and donated resources to a mechatronics class of high school juniors and seniors taking a course at Cleveland State Community College (CSCC).
The students have been tasked with designing and building an “amphibious vehicle” that will operate on both road and water. Starting with a 14-foot fiberglass hull and deck, they now have attached a chassis, axles and drive system. In addition to hosting the students Correct Craft’s Tennessee operation donated components such as steering, gauges, grab handles, dashes, lighting, seating, horn, audio, canvas, hardware and more to advance the team’s efforts.
Chris Jones, professor at CSCC stated, “These students are very bright and having the opportunity to take them to Correct Craft Tennessee’s highly innovative facility was something from which I know we all benefitted. This project of creating a vehicle that can operate in water and land is unique and will challenge the students, but the time and resources donated by Correct Craft will help us accomplish it!”
Bill Yeargin, Correct Craft’s President and CEO stated, “Our team enjoyed having the CSCC students at our facility. We really enjoyed contributing to their educational project and we are looking forward to seeing the finished product!” Yeargin added, “Our culture of continuous improvement and ‘Making Life Better’ extends well beyond our own team and we are always happy to help students broaden their horizons.”
