Official Correct Craft Press Release:
Orlando, FL (September 1, 2021) - Last week multiple lakes were cleaned by the Correct Craft team and its “Lake Cleanup Boat”.
The Lake Cleanup Boat is equipped with a vacuum that collects pollutants. Correct Craft’s new boat, on a SeaArk, can gather these unwanted items in hard-to-reach areas. The Lake Cleanup Boat will help protect neighborhoods, parks, lakes, and rivers throughout the U.S.
The first initiative in Florida was at Clear Lake in Orlando. Aktion Parks, a Correct Craft subsidiary, had their staff as well as their watersports park members volunteer. The team partnered with Keep Orlando Beautiful, a nonprofit by the City of Orlando’s Streets and Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department. The Correct Craft Lake Clean Up Boat was collecting waste while other volunteers were on the shorelines of George Barker Park with litter pickers. Most objects that were found onshore were lots of bottle caps and small microplastics that were broken down and hard to get.
Kellan Rudnicki, Aktion Parks Director of Operations stated, “It was really neat seeing our team and our wakeboard members join together to do something good for the community. We love being on the water so giving back this way and cleaning water for many to enjoy was an easy yes for all of us!”
Big Toho Marina in Kissimmee, Florida was the second initiative that the Correct Craft headquarter team served. The Lake Clean Up Boat went across the waters of West Lake Tohopekaliga vacuuming up trash on the water such as bottles, cans, chip bags, and more. The team also had extra volunteers that covered the marina’s shorelines and filled buckets full of waste.
Bill Yeargin CEO of Correct Craft stated, “It’s critical to care for our local waterways. As there are many harmful pollutants in our environment, and we want to encourage others to join us in cleaning up our water.”
