A little over a year ago I led a group of our Nautique employees on a trip to India in support of an organization in that country called As Our Own. The As Our Own team is doing a wonderful job in India working to protect young girls at high risk for human trafficking.
Our team was so impacted by what we saw in India that we came home and decided to help As Our Own raise both awareness and money by donating a new one-of-a-kind Super Air Nautique G21 that they could raffle off. So, over the past year many people have made donations to As Our Own for an opportunity to both help a great organization and also have a chance to win the amazing As Our Own G21.
Recently the winner of the G21 was selected and we were happy to present it to their family this weekend at the Dallas Boat Show.
Donating this boat is just a small part of the Nautique Cares initiative. Over the past several years we have supported many organizations here in Central Florida including Give Kids the World and the Coalition for the Homeless. The past two years we funded two houses for Habitat for Humanity and our employees volunteered to help build them.
Probably the most unique part of our Nautique Cares initiatives are the service trips we take around the world with our employees. Besides the India trip I have taken employees to Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and the Apache reservation in Arizona. Last year we took three trips to El Salvador to support a school there and this year we have trips planned to El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Tanzania.
On each of these international trips our employees team up with an organization that is working hard to make life better for people where they serve. We work really hard on the trips and many times the conditions are very rough. However, our employees love helping in this way and serving has become an important part of our culture. We want to build the worlds best boats but we also want to use our resources to make the world better.
The worlds best ski boat; the worlds best wake boat; and a company that cares!
Enjoy the Nautique life!
