The 2015 Nautique Wake Series concluded on August 17th with the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships held at the Miami Watersports Complex. The season long points chase came down to one final battle as riders took to the water attempting to clinch not only a national title, but also the overall Wake Series crown. The massive wakes behind the Super Air Nautique G23 provided the perfect platform to put it all on the line for some of the best action we have seen this year.
Nautique rider Meagan Ethell has been dominant all season with wins at the Nautique Pro Am and Nautique Wake Open along with a third place finish at the season opening Moomba Masters competition. Just ten points ahead coming into Nationals she had to make every trick count in all three rounds of competition to maintain her lead and take the 2015 Wake Series crown. In the end, her technical mastery was simply too much to top and Ethell took the podium as both the 2015 National and Wake Series Champion behind the boat and also won the Pro Women’s National Cable title!
“Nationals was a weekend I’ll remember forever! To be able to get on the podium three times and take home the boat National title for the first time ever was a dream come true. The site, the G23 wake, and the entire weekend was awesome! Thank you to Nautique for putting on such an amazing event and the best Series in wakeboarding”. – Meagan Ethell
Also riding strong at every event on the series was Nautique’s Raimi Merritt who took third place overall with second place finishes at the Moomba Masters and the Nautique Wake Open.
Bob Soven placed second overall in the Nautique Wake Series charging all season long with podium finishes at both the Nautique Wake Open and the Nautique Pro AM. He also finished third in the Pro Men’s Features Cable event to round out the weekend.
“I’m always stoked to finish on the podium, especially for an entire series! I want to thank Nautique for putting on the best event series in the world, allowing us to put on a show for thousands of fans behind the best boat in the industry! I’m looking forward to next year’s tour and hopefully moving into that number one spot!” – Bob Soven
Noah Flegel could not be stopped all weekend in front of a hometown south Florida crown that cheered on one of Nautique’s most multi-talented athletes. He crushed it behind the boat in every round with huge riding and go for broke tricks that led him to a third place podium finish behind the boat. In the cable competition, Noah took second place in Pro Men’s features to top of an amazing weekend.
