Official Correct Craft Press Release
Orlando, FLA (November 13, 2009) - Today Nautique announced that wakeskate will be added as a new discipline at the world's most prestigious watersports tournament, the 51st Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament. The wakeskate division will be included as a finals round on Sunday, May 30, 2010 of the esteemed Masters, held at beautiful Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
"As the sport of wakeskating has continued to progress and excel, we thought it very fitting that it be included as a finals division at the 51st Masters," stated Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. "We look forward to welcoming the world's top wakeskaters to this year's prestigious Masters, the most respected watersports tournament worldwide," added Yeargin.
The 51st Masters Pro Wakeskate Invitation criteria includes the top four wakeskaters from the 2009 WWA US Nationals and the top four wakeskaters from the WWA World Championships.
An invitation to compete in the Masters is universally considered an acknowledgement of achievement for reaching the pinnacle in a given watersports discipline - only the world's most elite athletes compete at the Masters. This tournament is IWWF, USA Water Ski and WWA sanctioned.
