Orlando, FLA (August 31, 2009) – This past weekend, Team Nautique riders battled hard at the WWA Wakeboard World Championships held in Orlando, FL to claim a first place win, a third place podium and the Best Trick Award.
In the Semifinals round of the Pro Men’s Wakeboarding division, Team Nautique athlete and leading Canadian rider Aaron Rathy performed exceptionally well and advanced to the Finals with a perfect score of 100. Then, in the Finals, Rathy emerged as the first place winner, thus securing his first world title and the King of Wake crown. Rathy commented on his win by stating, “I’m stoked to win my first world title and pumped about the 2009 King of Wake crown.”
Also, in the Pro Men’s Wakeboarding division, wakeboarding legend Shaun Murray received the Best Trick Award and a $1,000 cash prize for his colossal Heelside 540 off of the kicker. Nautique wakeskater Brandon Thomas also claimed the third place win in the Pro Men’s Wakeskate category.
