Orlando, FLA (August 21, 2009) Nautique is the proud recipient of the Watersports Industry Association (WSIA)’s Buzz Brand of the Year award which was presented at the 2009 Wake Awards, held at the Orlando Convention Center. This award recognizes Nautique for excellence in product development, branding and stimulating industry enthusiasm and conversation within the industry.
In addition to Nautique receiving the 2009 Buzz Brand award, numerous Team Nautique athletes received credit for their exceptional riding performances over the past year. Team Nautique Junior Pro rider Bob Soven was recognized as the top up-and-coming wakeboarder; J.D. Webb was credited as being the leading rail rider of the year; Danny Harf received the 2009 Best Wake Rider award and the Best Video Performance – Wakeboard award for his wakeboarding performances in Billabong’s “Out of the Pond” video; and Aaron Rathy received the 2009 Best Wakeboarder award and the 2009 Best Move – Wakeboard award for his Wrapped Heelside Backside 1080.
“If I could have picked one award for Nautique to win at the Wake Awards, it would have been the 2009 Buzz Brand award. This award is the industry’s recognition of a company that is making significant positive changes that are truly creating a buzz in the marketplace. There are a lot of companies doing exciting things in our industry so to be selected as the organization creating the most buzz is quite an honor,” stated Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “Congratulations also to our incredible Team Nautique athletes on your many wins last night.
