Orlando, FLA (February 20, 2009) – Nautique is proud to announce the dates of the fourth annual O’Brien Big Dawg Series presented by the world-renowned, prestigious Nautique brand.
The two O’Brien Big Dawg qualifying tournaments will take place in Louisiana and Michigan on June 13-14 and July 11-12, respectively. Each qualifying event will pit up to 50 skiers in head-to-head competition, all vying for cash and other prizes exceeding $20,000 and a chance to advance to the finals held August 13-14 in West Palm Beach, FL, in conjunction with the prestigious 2009 National Water Ski Championships. Additionally, the head-to-head finals will be webcast live under the lights from Okeeheelee Park, allowing a large number of ski enthusiasts worldwide to view this unique event from the comfort of their own homes.
“The O’Brien Big Dawg is about the enthusiasm and excitement of competing against the best amateur Slalom skiers in the world,” commented Greg Davis, Founder and Director of the Big Dawg series. “We are thrilled about hosting this year’s finals at Okeeheelee Park in combination with the 2009 Nationals which will allow a larger audience to experience this exciting head-to-head competition firsthand,” added Davis.
