Official Correct Craft Press Release
Orlando, FLA (June 13, 2008) – Today Correct Craft announced the dates of the 50th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament. This prestigious tournament will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 22-24, 2009, at beautiful Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
This year’s 49th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, held last month, was a huge success. The world’s top watersports athletes from 14 countries gathered together over Memorial Day weekend for three action-packed days of competition.
While the 49th Masters is over, the 50th Anniversary is right around the corner and the teams at Correct Craft and Callaway Gardens have already begun making big plans to ensure that this exciting milestone is truly spectacular.
“We are excited to once again produce the most prestigious watersports tournament in the world,” stated Correct Craft’s President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “The Masters Tournament has had a rich heritage for nearly five decades and we intend to make the 50th anniversary celebration bigger and better than ever,” added Yeargin.
An invitation to compete in the Masters is universally considered an acknowledgement of achievement for reaching the pinnacle in a given watersports discipline - only the world's most elite athletes compete at the Masters. This tournament is IWSF/USA Water Ski and WWA sanctioned. The prize purse, trophies, rings and special event awards are the largest in the watersports industry and total nearly $150,000.
