Official Correct Craft Press Release
ORLANDO, FLA. (July 13, 2006) — Boat manufacturer Correct Craft, Inc. completed production of its first boat through the company’s new 216,000-square-foot facility on Thursday, July 13. The company began transitioning to its new location in east Orlando, Florida, on June 10. Prior to the move, Correct Craft’s 356 employees occupied several separate buildings along Orange Avenue in south Orlando.
Correct Craft was founded in the Pine Castle area of South Orlando by W.C. Meloon in 1925. It is the oldest family-owned boat manufacturer in the United States. It is best known for its tournament caliber towboats, the Ski Nautique and the Air Nautique.
“My family built boats in that area for more than eighty-one years,” said Correct Craft’s vice president of sales Gary Meloon. “Moving all of those assets without interrupting production was an enormous task. Fortunately we have a great group of employees and together we got the job done.”
Correct Craft’s new state-of-the-art facility is located in the International Corporate Parkway complex. It is situated on 137 acres of land. In addition to the manufacturing facility and office building, the company constructed two lakes on which to test boats and to host water ski and wakeboard tournaments.
The first boat completely produced in the facility was a 2006 Air Nautique SV-211 Team Edition that will ship to its final destination in California.
Celebrating more than 80 years of excellence in the marine industry, Correct Craft is a family-owned manufacturer of internationally acclaimed competition caliber water ski and wakeboard boats and boats for recreational enjoyment. Correct Craft, Inc. is known for superior quality product, cutting-edge technology and innovative hull designs. For more information about Correct Craft, visit www.correctcraft.com.
