ORLANDO, FL (September 27, 2005) —It was an amazing weekend for Team Nautique with the Air Nautique Pan American Wakeboarding Championships, the Water Ski World Cup, and the Fox Motocross of Nations. Team Nautique walked away with five first place titles, three second place, and one third place.
The first Air Nautique Pan American Wakeboarding Championships held in Orlando, Florida this past weekend was a complete hit. Team Nautique riders Keith Lidberg, George Daniels, and Robert Soven all had something to smile about on Sunday. Lidberg, who took third place last year at the Vans Triple Crown WWA Wakeboard Worlds, proved to everyone this year that it wasn’t a fluke. Lidberg claimed the winning title in the Pro Men’s division over Josh Sanders, Brett Eisenhauer, and Rusty Malinoski. "I really love riding behind the Air Nautique," said Lidberg. "And I feel really comfortable riding here at Orlando WaterSports Complex. It's like my second home." In the Pro Wakeskate finals, Daniels finished second with a score of 70 points. Soven, who has been strong all season long, won the Boys division over Steel Lafferty.
Also this past weekend was the 2005 Fox Motocross of Nations. Often called "The Olympics of Motorcycling," the Motocross of Nations features three-man teams from around the world competing in three races, or motos. This year, Team USA was led by Team Nautique rider Ricky Carmichael and also consisted of Kevin Windham and Ivan Tedesco. Carmichael won two of the motos that helped Team USA win the Fox Motocross of Nations held in Ernee, France.
Wrapping up a busy weekend, there was also a Water Ski World Cup event held in Enniskillen, Ireland. Team Nautique's Clementine Lucine placed first in Open Women’s Tricks with a score of 7,690 points. An outstanding athlete, Lucine also placed third in Jump. Marina Mosti, from Italy, placed second in Tricks. In the Men’s events, Jaret Llewellyn placed fourth in Tricks with a final score of 10,060 and finished first in Jump over Freddie Krueger. Team Nautique athlete Jason Seels finished fourth in Jump and in Slalom.
