Official Correct Craft Press Release
ORLANDO, FL (July 6, 2005) — June 26th was the maiden voyage of the Billabong Air Nautique making its debut at the Billabong Surfrat Superfinal. Every year the winners of each contest are invited to participate in the Surfrat Superfinal, where they square off against each other for the ultimate Grand Prize, a week in Tavarua. This year the good folks at Billabong decided to do something a little different for the Super final. Instead of your average “tent on the beach” contest, they decided to put their brand new Super Air Nautique to good use. So they loaded up the invitees and a couple of photographers onto the boat, placed a couple of drivers and judges on the Honda skis at their disposal, and boated them to a stretch of beach that is desolate and inaccessible by land. Once there, they broke the group into heats, put a jersey on them, and towed them into the line up. When the contestants were in place, they had the judges sit on the skis on the inside of the lineup. Once everything was in place, it was “Game On”.
Congratulations to 2005 Surf Rat Series Champions Kai Barger and Kolohe Andino!
If you missed the Surf Rat series and did not get a chance to check out the new Billabong Super Air Nautique, there is an East Coast and West Coast boat that will be making appearances at various events throughout the year. Also, if you sign up to be part of the Billabong Surf Camp you will receive a full day out on the water to wakeboard and wakesurf while staying at the camp. Check out www.billabong.com or www.correctcraft.com for more info on Billabong and Air Nautiques.
Keep an eye out for the next big thing that Billabong and Air Nautiques will team up on…its going to be huge! I’ll give you a hint - it’s going to be just in time for Christmas.
