Water Ski Pros (Headed by Andy Mapple) has secured an exibition event at the Rolex 24, to be held at the Daytona International Speedway. The event is scheduled for February 5-6. You can find out more information through www.waterskipros.com and www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com. This should be an awesome event!
World Waterski Pros (WWSP) is proud to announce that together with Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, they will bring 3-event professional water skiing and other water sports events to the speedway during the Rolex 24-Hour race on February 5th and 6th, 2005.
Jeff Hinton, Manager of Promotions for the Speedway, stated that this showcase of professional water skiing is “…another step in the Speedway’s new infield look, and another high-speed thrill for the fans.” The Speedway is just completing a 5-month round the clock renovation of the entire infield, including Lake Lloyd, the 29-acre lake along the backstretch. There will now be accommodations for more parking, entertainment centers, and water skiing!
Andy Mapple, President of WWSP stated, “This is a great opportunity for the future of our sport, where we can introduce the excitement and thrills of water skiing to another venue, and to another group of enthusiastic fans.” In 2004, there were over 60,000 fans in attendance for the Rolex 24.
February 5th and 6th will be an invitational exhibition that will tailor water ski events to the race program. WWSP welcomes this opportunity to demonstrate what is now called a “New World” for water skiing and what it can add to the total “Daytona experience!”
