ORLANDO, FL JAN. 3, 2005 —The Masters Steering Committee has released the water ski invitation criteria for the 46th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament to be held at Callaway in Pine Mountain, Georgia, over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2005.
The Masters is the worlds oldest, most prestigious, water ski and wakeboard tournament. The Masters Committee meets to discuss the invitation criteria for the next year's event, due to the ever-changing environment of professional watersports, and has arrived at a complete list of criteria to ensure that the world's very best athletes are invited to the 46th Masters. In 2005 the Women will again have the traditional Jump event rather than Ski Fly, as was used for several years.
"Correct Craft and Callaway host this event. The Masters is and has always been about quality—not quantity. Our commitment is to invite only the best athletes in the world. That philosophy is primarily agreed with. However, at times there is dissension in the process used to achieve that lofty goal,” stated Gary Meloon, Tournament Director.
