The 2nd Annual Hawaii Nautique Boat Owners Reunion was held on Saturday November 6th. Boats ranged from an old 1974 Mustang to a 2003 Ski 206. Of the thirty or so Nautiques in Hawaii, ten made their way to the Reunion.
To kick off the event, Correct Craft (Orlando), West Coast Correct Craft, and Nautiques Hawaii sponsored a “FREE” waterski clinic with Andy Mapple. The clinic was held on Friday with twenty-five skiers ready to battle the rain. Andy blew everyone away running every pass from 32-41 off.
One of the more funny things that happened that day was Curtis Fujimura (a local skier and Andy Mapple fan) asked Andy for his boardshorts. With everyone laughing Andy was a “True Professional” and gave his number one Hawaii fan his shorts. To top it all off, he autographed it. Curtis showed his dedication to his skiing idol and wore the shorts to the Reunion the next day.
The Reunion consisted of a BBQ, boat judging, and raffle. We gave out a ton of prizes with the “grand prize” being a three day personal waterski lesson with Andy Mapple. The results are as follows:
Cleanest Boat - Curtis & Dale Fujimura
Most Hours – Benjamin & Stephanie Guieb
Best Rig – Roger & Cynthia Logan
Most Custom/Modified- Steve Cunningham
Needs Love – Gary Meyer
Raffle Winner – Cynthia Logan
We all had an incredible time with the Mapple’s. We would like to invite everyone to the 3rd Annual. Please check the Correct Craft and PlanetNautique website for the official dates.
