ORLANDO, FL (November 5, 2004) —Team Nautique’s Jaret Llewellyn has pending world records in jump and overall. Llewellyn’s 240-foot jump is the farthest anyone has ever jumped off a 6-foot ramp in the world, which was accomplished this past weekend at the McCormick Halloween Bash in Seffner, Florida.
The majority of skiers in the Open Men’s division at McCormick’s jumped at least two hundred and ten feet behind the 2005 Ski Nautique Team Edition powered by the GM Vortec PCM 6.0 liter engine. Llewellyn’s jump also gives him the tournament site record, the Canadian record, the Nautique record, and a pending World record. In addition, Llewellyn has a pending World overall record. This isn’t Llewellyn’s first time to break the jump and overall records at the McCormick’s Halloween Bash. He missed the competition last year but competed in 2002 when he broke the jump and overall record.
When asked about how it felt to be the first person to jump 240 feet, Llewellyn stated, “Incredible, I was the first to go 230-feet and the skiers knew that this distance was going down soon. With 240-feet, I am not sure people were expecting it! People will always remember who went 200-feet first; it’s nice to think people will always remember who went 240-feet first.”
