ORLANDO, FLA (March 11, 2011) —Nautique announces the expansion of the 2012 Big Dawg Series into Australia.
Nautique and the organizers of the Moomba Masters International Invitational Championships, one of world’s most prestigious events, have joined forces to bring Big Dawg to the 2012 Moomba Masters. This year’s top eight from the O’Brien Big Dawg Finals will receive an invite to next year’s Moomba Masters held on the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia. The remaining four spots will be determined by a last chance qualifier in Australia prior to Moomba.
This will be the first Big Dawg event where the athletes are invited to ski on the same stage as elite pros. The Moomba Masters will have a field of twelve Big Dawg skiers to compete over three days, and then the final four will compete on Moomba Monday. The final four will also receive an invite to the Big Dawg Finals in 2012.
“We are extremely excited for the Big Dawg to become a part of the Moomba Masters, stated Nautique’s President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “The Big Dawg is clearly growing and is recognized as the most prestigious 35 and older amateur ski series in the world. This is a great opportunity for these skiers to compete among the elite pros!” Yeargin added.
