Orlando, FLA (May 13, 2011) – It’s time for the 52nd Annual Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® presented by Nautique at Callaway Gardens®. Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-30, 2011. The weekend is going to be full of championship waterskiing, wakeboarding and wakeskating on Robin Lake plus new exciting activities for the entire family to enjoy.
Watch dozens of the world’s finest water sports athletes representing more than 14 countries compete for more than $110,000 in cash and the coveted title of Masters Champion. Special activities on Robin Lake Beach will include water sports vendors, concessions and other festivities for spectators to enjoy throughout the event.
This year, Memorial Day Weekend will offer exciting events each night following the Masters competition. Friday will feature live music, a beach cookout*, and the new Callaway Gardens Farmers Market, an opportunity to purchase locally grown produce and products. Saturday evening will take on a Cajun theme with a Low Country Boil*; a Zydeco band, and Beach Olympics for some friendly competition. To celebrate the end of the tournament, Sunday evening will feature a BBQ*, live music and introduction of the newly crowned Masters Champions. Since it is a long weekend, the fun continues on Monday with two ski stunt shows, and a demo day giving guests and opportunity to drive Nautique boats.
The weekend will also include an exciting head-to-head slalom exhibition presented by O’Brien on Saturday and Sunday with legendary athlete Andy Mapple skiing behind the first ever 100% electric Ski Nautique E versus Kris LaPoint behind the Ski Nautique 200. O’Brien will be auctioning off several items including seats in each boat and with all proceeds benefiting the Warrior to Citizens Project. The Warrior to Citizens (W2C) Project is a pilot program of the State of Georgia, the Georgia National Guard and veterans groups everywhere to specifically address post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in troops returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Admission to this special event Memorial Day Weekend is $25/adult and $12.50/child (age 6 to 12). Children age 5 and younger are admitted for free. Callaway Gardens Annual Passholders receive half-price admission. Military personnel receive free admission for themselves and up to five guests in the same vehicle with presentation of active or retired military identification. Preferred Pavilion Passes are limited and are available on a first-come basis.
