ORLANDO, FLA (December 3, 2013) — Nautique is excited to announce the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) has approved two world records by athletes Nate Smith and Erika Lang set behind the Ski Nautique 200.
Smith who was the current co-holder of the Men’s Slalom World Record broke the record at a tournament held at the Ski Ranch in Covington, Louisiana on September 7th, skiing 2.5@43-off behind the revolutionary Ski Nautique 200.
Lang at the age of 17 years old set a new Women’s Trick World Record of 10,180 points at a tournament held at Imperial Lakes in El Centro, California on October 12th, also behind the innovative Ski Nautique 200.
Smith and Lang proved their records were no coincidence when they both claimed gold medals in their respective disciplines this past week at the Water Ski World Championships. They are both now world record holders and world champions!
“The Nautique family is incredibly proud of these two amazing skiers. We are also thrilled that our innovative Ski Nautique 200 could help them achieve this incredibly high honor,” stated Nautique CEO Bill Yeargin. “The Ski Nautique 200 has now pulled 15 world records, a huge number of regional and national records and innumerable personal bests; there is no boat close.
