I agree that Nautique has the best 3 event boat out there, and I think most of us would say the G-series is the best wakeboard boat out there. The question then becomes..when will Nautique remodel the Sport 200 to become the undisputed cross-over leader? Right now, the Sport 200 can't host NSS. Without a modern surf system this boat arguably falls behind the Malibu VTX. The VTX is equipped with SurfGate. Yes, I'm aware the Sport 200 has a better ski wake than the VTX but the bottom line is I expect Nautique to be the best. That means having a state-of-the-art surf system on it's crossover.

Just my two cents...but I will back it up with $65K if they produce one. I think a lot of other folks would as well. -Marc

Until it's shown otherwise, I agree the 200 is the 3 event king. I have to say though, we went through a '14 Prostar on Wednesday and I walked away extremely impressed. Obviously it's the ski-ability that will matter, and we can't ski it until April 12th, but it's the most well thought out tournament boat interior I've ever seen. The dash display was an obvious 200 rip-off, but they incorporated ZO much better. With that said, CC will no doubt take notice, and I'm sure they'll continue to tweak the 200 to maintain their dominance.

MC needs to hit a home run with their new Prostar. I can't believe how far they had fallen over the last few years. The 200 is THE STANDARD when it comes to skiability.

Only another month until the ice is gone from my lake. Can't wait to hop in the drysuit and get my first run of the season!

I agree. It was pretty clear that MC leveraged the 200 pretty heavily... the dimensions match, the position of the dash, etc. As you would expect being 4 years behind, they made some really nice improvements. The dash and ZO are really nicely done, and a lot of the details that CC goofed on the 200 were fixed. The motorbox opens all the way, theres room for a straight boom, you can get a leg between the observer seat and driver's seat, the fold down/walk through jump seat is incorporated much more cleanly. The ski racks seem to work great and dont rob you of a ton of room when not in use (unlike the side lockers). Fit and finish seem to have improved from past years. Theyre also saying its quite a bit faster (and lighter) than the outgoing 197, which if true, means it will outperform the 200 handily. I dont care for the looks, but if it skis as good as the 200, it's still a step forward in terms of functionality.

Lets hope that this competition is a good thing!

I think competition is a good thing. We will see something even better than the 200. I got a chance to walk over and check out the PS at the show. I was impressed with all the functionality they added. Not sure how I like the pull out open bow piece but I am a closed bow guy till I die ha. The ski rack are neat. I don't like the pattern of the SeaDek they chose. I don't like the rear seats they are reminiscent of a Tige'. Anyone have their two cents on the longevity of the material they use for seats?

I thought the upholstery materials were really nice. I hope CC follows suit and offers a snap in carpet too. I can wait to ski the MC, if the lakes ever thaw this spring

Update: Ran a new Prostar yesterday. Nice wake, and the best driving Prostar in 20 years. With that said, it's no 200. Kind of pokey out of the hole, with a similar top end to the 200. It doesn't track as well, nor does it handle like a 200. For some reason, MC just can't make a Prostar that doesn't cause your kidneys to bleed when crossing rollers. FWIW, the Prostar is also really loud in comparison...5.7 to 5.7 Excal comp. With the amount of R&D that went into the MC, much of it obviously lifted from the 200, I'm very surprised we didn't walk away thinking it could be the family's next rig.

CC's reign as undisputed leader is sure to continue. Cheer for Nate to round 3 ball this summer, and chalk up another CC world record!
