ORLANDO, FLA (May 12, 2014) – Team Nautique athlete and current World Recorder holder Erika Lang has done it again, not once but twice! This past weekend, Erika broke the current Trick World Record of 10,180 points twice with scores of 10,360 and 10,460 points behind the world record breaking Ski Nautique 200. These will be the sixteenth and seventeenth World Records set behind the Ski Nautique 200 since 2009.
The records were set at the Crystal Point tournament held in Gilbert, AZ on May 10-11th and are pending approval from the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). At 18 years old, Lang has already set three trick World Records and looks to continue her dominance on the water leading into the 55th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, which will be held on May 23-25th, 2014 at Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, GA.
“Training behind the Ski Nautique 200 has definitely given me the edge that I need to continue to progress my skiing abilities, as well as continue to be able to set World Records,” commented Team Nautique athlete, Erika Lang. “Being able to trick all three rounds over 10,000 points and setting two World Records was a huge feat and I couldn’t have done it behind any other boat than the Ski Nautique 200,” Lang added.
“Everyone at Nautique is thrilled for Erika’s amazing accomplishments including breaking the world record not only once, but twice this past weekend behind the Ski Nautique 200!” stated Nautique President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “Erika is an extraordinary person and athlete who is committed to the sport and we couldn’t be more proud of her!” Yeargin added.
