Official Nautique Press Release:
ORLANDO, FLA (January 13, 2015) Nautique is pleased to announce the 2015 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour presented by OBrien event schedule and all-new points system. This premier series is in its tenth season and is exclusively pulled by the world record breaking Ski Nautique 200.
The Big Dawg tour will feature four qualifying stops around the world at premier water ski sites as the top 34 mph amateur slalom skiers 35 and older vie for a spot in the Big Dawg Finals. Each stop will include two rounds of 34 mph record-capable slalom action, followed by a heart-pounding, bracketed, 16-skier, head-to-head finale. The finals will be held in Orlando, Florida in conjunction with the prestigious Nautique U.S. Open of Water Skiing scheduled for October 2015.
New for 2015, the Big Dawg World Tour has established a points system based on placement at each event and will be used to determine qualified athletes for the finals. The winner of each qualifying stop will be awarded maximum points as well as receive an automatic invite to the finals. Skiers will be awarded points based upon their ranking at each event. A cumulative score for each skier will be calculated by adding the two highest point totals from the qualifying events. The top 40 skiers will be invited to compete at the Big Dawg World Tour Finals.
