ORLANDO, FL (February 24, 2015) – The Nautique Wake Series, the industry’s premier tour with the industry’s largest prize purse, kicks off next week in Melbourne, Australia. The first event of this series is the prestigious Moomba Masters Invitational on March 4th-9th. With hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the shores of the Yarra River during the event, the Moomba Masters features the world’s best athletes towed exclusively behind the award winning Super Air Nautique G21 and G23.
The Nautique Wake Series boasts the largest prize purse in wakeboarding with $225K in cash up for grabs. Prize money is offered not only for each individual event but also for overall series winners. New for 2015, the Nautique Wake Series will offer a $5K bounty for anyone that lands a new trick during any of the series events.
With the world’s most elite wakeboarding events and athletes, the Nautique Wake Series is the most highly regarded wakeboard tour on the planet. Each event is designed to showcase wakeboarding at the highest level and serve as a platform for the sport to grow with events that include both male, female, professional and amateur athletes making the Nautique Wake Series the only event series giving riders of all ages, genders, and skill levels the opportunity to compete at an elite level for the entire competitive season.
The Overall Nautique Wake Series Champions will be crowned at the final Nautique Wake Series stop, the WWA Nautique National Championships in Miami, FL. The overall winners will take home their share of the $30K in championship money in addition to their individual event winnings. The top six in Pro Women, Jr. Pro Men, Pro Wakeskate, and Pro Men will also receive an invitation to the prestigious 2016 Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® to be held at Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, GA.
