Nautique Launches 2016 Product

So I'm in the market for a new 2016 and more than the color choices I'm agonizing over the engine options. I currently have a 2013 with the XR550. Plenty of power obviously. So how would that engine and tranny combo rank vs. the H6 in the 2016 (the 450 HP engine) When we go out we usually have the boat slammed full of people. No as much "stuff" since we run off a dock at the lake but I'd say at least 6-8 ppl everytime we go out and sometimes more.

so would I 'miss' the HP if I didn't go with a 550 in the new 2016? Is gas mileage that much different? As PP stated if I can save on the engine i can absorb some of the price increase. TIA!!

You'll have to test drive both engines to make that decision. I think the 450 is solid but since you've been driving a 550 for the past few years you may feel different. I'm pretty sure they added the 2:1 tranny on the 550 for 2016 so test both before making that type of decision.

I have the 550 and love it but we surf 99% of the time and I know the 450 would be fine even with a slammed boat.
