Official Nautique Press Release:
Orlando, FL (March 2, 2017) -Nautique is excited to announce the date and location for the final stop of the 2017 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour presented by O’Brien. On Saturday, August 26th the season finale will take place in conjunction with the California Pro Am in Rio Linda, California pulled by the record-setting Ski Nautique 200. The event, held at the infamous Bell Acqua Lake, will incorporate the preliminary round of 30 protected skiers on Friday, followed by the Sweet 16 head-to-head battle and finals on Saturday. Now in its 16th year as the premier waterskiing event on the west coast, Sunday will be reserved for the finals in the open divisions of the California Pro Am.
“I am honored to be hosting the event after winning the Nautique Big Dawg World Tour finals last year,” said event host Greg Badal. “With Nautique supporting the California Pro Am for the past 16 years, we’re extremely excited to extend the invite for the Big Dawg Finals to be included into this already widely successful event.”
“O'Brien is very excited to see the Big Dawg Finals move to Bell Acqua Lake and join up with the California Pro Am,” said Pete Surrette of O’Brien Waterskis. “Adding the Big Dawg Finals will enhance this already great event. We look forward to another exciting final stop!”
“The final stop of the Big Dawg World Tour is sure to be a dramatic finish to an incredible series,” said Nautique president Greg Meloon. “We couldn’t be more excited to cap off the season in such an epic west coast waterski location as Bell Acqua.”
