Official Nautique Press Release:
Orlando, FL (May 16, 2017) - Current World-Record holder and Nautique team athlete Nate Smith broke the world record in slalom skiing this past weekend with 3 @ 43' off behind the Ski Nautique 200. The world record was set during the Swiss Pro Slalom Tournament on May 14, 2017 and is still pending with the International Waterski Federation to be officially ratified. Nate is the current world record holder with 2.5 @ 43' off, and will continue his reign over the slalom ski world by setting yet another world record once approved.
“I couldn’t be more excited to not only win the Swiss Pro Slalom event this past weekend, but also to break the world record once again,” said Nautique athlete Nate Smith. “Being able to practice behind the best boat in the world allows me to put up the best scores in the world. Nothing beats the Ski Nautique 200, and I’'m really looking forward to competing behind it again in the Nautique Masters!”
This will be the 25th world record set behind the Ski Nautique 200, a record in itself. The Ski 200 remains the leader in terms of setting world records and personal bests in the three-event world, and delivers power and performance that is unmatched by any other inboard waterski boat.
"We're ecstatic that team Nautique athlete Nate Smith has achieved another record-setting performance behind the Ski Nautique 200," said Nautique president Greg Meloon. "It's exciting to watch an athlete like Nate continue to push the boundaries of waterskiing."
