Official Nautique Press Release:
Orlando, FL (June 9, 2017) - This past weekend members of the Nautique team departed from our headquarters in Orlando, Florida to the Dominican Republic for yet another project as part of the Nautique Cares initiative.
With the support of many of our key vendors, the team was able to help construct a completely custom playground at a local mission camp, HOPE Dominican Republic, to give kids a safe place to play. The playground was fabricated in the US by Nautique and our vendors, and then shipped down and assembled in the Dominican Republic. It incorporated aluminum construction from our partners over at Diamondback, traction throughout provided by SeaDek, and weatherproof coating from the folks at Ram Lin and U-Pol. This served as the second trip to the Dominican Republic by the team here at Nautique, as we’ve been playing an active role in developing the community there. During the first trip, our team built a roof for a local resident, constructed a speaking platform and stage for a church, and made classroom furniture for a small school.
“The Nautique team is very proud to take part in projects like this one in the Dominican Republic,” said Nautique President, Greg Meloon. “We strive to make the world a better place whether that’s at home or abroad, and through our Nautique Cares initiatives we are all pleased that we can make a difference in the lives of others.”
Nautique would like to give a special thanks to the folks at Diamondback, SeaDek, Ram-Lin, Tampa Bay Steel, Masterline, Marine Fasteners and Comp One for their major support of this project. The team were also fortunate to have the assistance of 23 members of the Adventures in Missions team that was also there to help with their many needs and with the assembly of the playground.
