Official Nautique Press Release:
Orlando, FL (December 20, 2017) - The IWWF has just named their 2017 Waterskiers of the Year with Team Nautique Athletes Ryan Dodd and Neilly Ross taking top honors in the male and female Tournament Skier categories. Both have had incredible years skiing their absolute best at tournaments across the globe, racking up numerous podium finishes. Both athletes train at home behind the world record-setting Ski Nautique 200, and attribute being able to ski behind the best waterski boat in the industry to their success.
Along with breaking the world jump record this year, Ryan Dodd dominated the tournament scene winning the 58th Nautique Masters with a single jump, and taking home the IWWF World Championship as well. Neilly also had an incredible year winning three prestigious events in Women's Trick at the Moomba Masters, Nautique Masters as well as the IWWF World Championships.
"The 2017 season has been the year I've always dreamed of. Masters and Worlds titles, a World Record and now male Athlete of the Year," said Ryan Dodd. "I'm extremely thankful! This success comes from the support of my family, friends, sponsors and support team. Training behind the Nautique 200 on a daily basis gives me the edge I need to ensure I can always be at my best."
"It is such an incredible honor to be named IWWF female skier of the year." said Neilly Ross. "I can honestly say that I have given all of my effort doing what I love everyday, and was very fortunate to have had the results that I did this season. I have been inspired by so many amazing athletes in our sport, and am so humbled to be recognized for this award amongst these incredible athletes! Team Nautique has been instrumental to my success, and I just love the dedication to our sport that Nautique shares with athletes and participants around the world."
